Thereโs something beautiful in the way breath becomes both grounding and surrender here. The image of making the wind your friend gives the piece its quiet power.
The poem locates peace not as the absence of chaos but as a different relationship with it. The wind does not become safe, it becomes familiar. That distinction matters because most people are waiting for the storm to stop before they decide to breathe and the poem is saying that the breathing is actually what changes the experience of the storm, not the other way around.
Marwa, thank you for reminding me that I don't need wings to fly, just the courage to trust the wind. Your words are the embrace my own chaos needed today.
Nice to meet you, Marwa. The idea of riding the wind is something I never had before. I have always thought that going with the flow means not having my own axis, so I tend to try to control things, and instead of riding the wind, I end up going against it, and maybe that is why things donโt go as smoothly as I want. It might be a bad example, but it feels like taking a shot into a headwind in golf.
Beautiful words. Your hurricane has me pondering...
Power, raw, wild and absolute... It calls us to harness intentions and then be carried: swirled, opened, held, ascended... no wings, just wonder and awe.
I usually hold my breath in times of chaos and other times too. But I was breathing reading this. It was regulating. I may read it into the wind tomorrow. Beautiful

โPerhaps peace begins not by resisting chaos, but by learning how to be carried without losing breath.โ
That stayed with me.

Maybe it's time I made the wind my friend then.

Only problem with substack, if you donโt put comma or full stop, one can not quote and restack ๐ซฉ
I love how light you make the profound.
