Thank you for reading. I couldn’t agree more. They’re so fascinating, and their social habits are even more captivating. The crows around us, watch us and recognize us, even more than we do them.
I appreciate you and your comment. I hope you get a chance to read more of this story and let me know what you think.
This is my first time reading you, Marwa, and I’m subscribing after this one.
Interesting that the parakeet doesn’t choose freedom, he falls into it, and only becomes king of anything after the fact. That’s truer than most stories about “taking the leap.” I’ve got a poem about a crow too, different bird energy but same feeling of something showing up uninvited and staying. Happy to share it here if it fits, or I’ll just let this one speak for itself.
Do you think the crows were ever trying to help him, or just telling the truth without caring either way?
This is a beautiful, moving allegory about outgrowing your comfort zone. That "their words only hurt when you know they're true" really stayed with me. Realizing your potential is being wasted is heavy. Sometimes, the forces that disrupt our lives and make us uncomfortable can be our wake-up call, a cry to step up to our potential.
Dear Marwa,
I think we all have many different crows in our lives, different version of one,’some with look like humans , some ; like every thing else.
I do find myself stopping in the middle of the street when I see one.
I am amazed by them, they are so bright.
They move like no other bird, like a predefined plan.
If there has been studies about them,
I have no doubt that whatever we know, is far less that what they truly are.
A mix of magic, a mix of science.
The most fascinated birds that I have ever seen.
Truly ~

Thank you so much
It’s rare to make a drastic change without something breaking … otherwise we stay where we’re happy don’t we
thank you for sharing I checked it out and really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to read more from you 🌸💙
The bit about staying where we’re happy, unless something breaks, that’s going to sit with me longer than the parakeet poem itself did.
It’s such a quiet way of saying most people don’t leave, they get pushed.
We’re being pushed everyday, some things we ignore and some we respond to. Something ticks inside us that guides that personal choice.
